Ingredient profile: the one printed amount
Glyco Harmony Chromium: What 0.7 mcg of Chromium Picolinate Means
Glyco Harmony chromium is listed as chromium (as chromium picolinate) at 0.7 mcg per 1 mL serving, 2% of the Daily Value. It is the only ingredient with its own amount. Chromium-only products usually give 200 to 500 mcg, so 0.7 mcg is under 1% of a common product dose. No study tested this product.

On the label01
What is the chromium in Glyco Harmony?
The chromium in Glyco Harmony is printed as "Chromium (as chromium picolinate)", at 0.7 mcg per 1 mL serving. The label counts that as 2% of the Daily Value.
Chromium is an essential trace mineral. Chromium picolinate is one form of it, bound to picolinic acid. It is the only line on the Supplement Facts panel that has an amount of its own. The other 22 names share a 200 mg proprietary blend with no single amounts.
The marked crop above shows the chromium row. The table below sets the label next to the research we could verify.
| Name on the label | Chromium (as chromium picolinate) |
|---|---|
| What it is | The trace mineral chromium, in its picolinate form |
| Per 1 mL serving | 0.7 mcg |
| % Daily Value | 2% |
| Amount used in research | An overview of 58 trials used 1.28 to 1,000 mcg a day; chromium-only products usually give 200 to 500 mcg. The label has 0.7 mcg per 1 mL, under 1% of those products |
| Strength of evidence | Mixed: small changes in fasting glucose and A1C of unclear importance; the ADA finds no benefit from supplements without a deficiency |
| Marketed or traditional use | A trace mineral; the Adequate Intake is 25 to 35 mcg a day for adults 19 to 50 |
| Main caution | May add to the effects of insulin and metformin (low blood sugar risk) and may lower levothyroxine absorption. Case reports link higher doses to kidney and liver problems. |
The label does not say why this form of chromium was chosen. The full panel is on the supplement facts page.
The arithmetic02
How much chromium is in Glyco Harmony compared with what adults need?
One 1 mL serving has 0.7 mcg of chromium. Adults aged 19 to 50 have an Adequate Intake of 25 to 35 mcg a day (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet), so the drops give a small share of that.
If one dropper is 1 mL, which the label does not confirm, 1 dropper a day gives 0.7 mcg and 2 droppers give 1.4 mcg. A full 60 mL bottle holds 60 servings, which is 42 mcg of chromium in all.
Chromium-only products usually give 200 to 500 mcg a day, and trials have gone up to 1,000 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet). To match one 200 mcg dose you would need about 286 servings, which is nearly five bottles. The table shows the same gap as percentages.
| Comparison | Amount a day | 0.7 mcg is about |
|---|---|---|
| Adequate Intake, women 19 to 50 | 25 mcg | 2.8% |
| Adequate Intake, men 19 to 50 | 35 mcg | 2% |
| Low end of chromium-only products | 200 mcg | 0.35% |
| High end of chromium-only products | 500 mcg | 0.14% |
| Top of trial doses | 1,000 mcg | 0.07% |
The percentages are our division of the label figure by the sourced amounts. The label's own 2% Daily Value uses a 35 mcg reference.
The research03
Does chromium picolinate lower blood sugar?
Studies of chromium picolinate found small changes in blood sugar markers of unclear importance. They tested much larger amounts than the label shows, and none tested Glyco Harmony.
A 2015 review pooled 14 trials with 875 people. Against placebo, chromium picolinate changed A1C by 0.6 percentage points and fasting glucose by 8.5 mg/dL, and neither change was statistically significant. The authors called it premature to recommend chromium as part of standard care (Yin and Phung 2015, chromium and A1C).
A 24-week trial of 137 adults with type 2 diabetes used 1,000 mcg a day of picolinate and found no significant effect on A1C or fasting glucose (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet). A 2024 review reported possible benefits in some trials, but doses ranged from 50 to 1,000 mcg and quality varied (Georgaki et al. 2024, chromium and type 2 diabetes).
The American Diabetes Association finds no benefit from supplements for people without a deficiency (American Diabetes Association, Vitamins and Supplements). The FDA allows only a qualified chromium claim that it calls highly uncertain (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet).

Where does chromium sit among the Glyco Harmony ingredients?
Chromium is line one of 23. The rest are the 22 names of the blend, listed by weight. Use the filter to show the mineral on its own, then the groups beside it.
Because the blend gives no single amounts, chromium is the only ingredient where a label figure can be compared with a study. For every other name this site can only give a ceiling.

Is chromium picolinate safe to take with diabetes medicine?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. Chromium may add to the effect of insulin or metformin, so low blood sugar is possible, and it may lower the absorption of levothyroxine (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet).
At 0.7 mcg per serving the amount is tiny, and we cannot say what it does in your body. Case reports have linked higher chromium doses to kidney and liver problems, and the NCCIH notes rare kidney, liver, muscle and skin problems with large doses (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements).
Low blood sugar can feel like shaking, sweating, hunger or a fast heartbeat. Confusion, fainting or a seizure needs 911 (CDC, Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia)).
Keep taking prescribed medicine. Never change insulin or diabetes medicine because of a supplement.
- Tell your pharmacist about every supplement you take, including this one.
- Ask about levothyroxine timing if you take thyroid medicine.
- Check labels for the blend names, which carry their own cautions on the side effects page.
A clear line06
Can the chromium in Glyco Harmony replace diabetes medicine?
No. Chromium at 0.7 mcg is not a diabetes medicine, and no source says a supplement should replace one.
The NCCIH says not to replace medical treatment with an unproven product (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements). See the guide to supplements and diabetes medicines.

Chromium in Glyco Harmony: your questions
Is chromium picolinate the same as chromium?
Chromium picolinate is one form of the mineral chromium, bound to picolinic acid. The label prints the amount as chromium (as chromium picolinate). It does not say why this form was chosen.
How much chromium do adults need a day?
The Adequate Intake is 35 mcg for men and 25 mcg for women aged 19 to 50. It is a little lower after age 50. No upper limit has been set for chromium.
Is 0.7 mcg of chromium enough to matter?
It is 2% of the Daily Value and under 1% of common chromium-only product doses. We cannot say what it does for you. Pooled trials at larger doses found small changes of unclear importance.
Can chromium cause low blood sugar?
It may add to the effect of insulin or metformin, so low blood sugar is possible. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you add a supplement, and never change a diabetes dose because of one.
Does chromium interact with levothyroxine?
Chromium may lower how well levothyroxine is absorbed. If you take thyroid medicine, ask your pharmacist about timing before you add any chromium product.
How much chromium is in a whole bottle of Glyco Harmony?
If one dropper is 1 mL, 60 servings hold 42 mcg of chromium in all, which is 60 times 0.7 mcg. The label does not define a dropper, so that is an assumption.
Why is chromium listed apart from the blend?
The label gives chromium its own line and amount, and puts 22 names inside a 200 mg proprietary blend with no single amounts. It does not explain the split.
