Is Glyco Harmony Good for Diabetes? Ask Your Doctor First

Quick answer

Is Glyco Harmony good for diabetes? It is a dietary supplement, not a diabetes medicine, and no study shows it helps diabetes. The label claims only Blood Sugar Support* and carries the FDA statement. Keep taking prescribed medicine, and never change insulin or diabetes medicine because of a supplement.

The Supplement Facts panel: bring it, or the bottle, to your doctor or pharmacist.

Is Glyco Harmony good for diabetes?

No evidence shows Glyco Harmony is good for diabetes, and it is not a diabetes medicine.

The American Diabetes Association says supplements are not proven to lower blood glucose or support diabetes management (American Diabetes Association, Vitamins and Supplements). The bottle claims "Blood Sugar Support*" and nothing about diabetes.

Why must you keep taking diabetes medicine?

Your medicine does a measured job that a supplement has not been shown to do.

Chromium, L-arginine, ginseng and gymnema each have a source saying they may add to the effect of insulin or diabetes pills. That can cause low blood sugar. Below 70 mg/dL is low, and below 54 mg/dL is severe (CDC, Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia)).

Confusion, fainting or a seizure needs 911. Never change a dose on your own.

What can the Glyco Harmony label tell your doctor?

It tells your doctor the names and the order, and it hides every single amount.

The 22 names sit in a 200 mg blend in descending order by weight. Each bar shows the most a name could weigh: 200 divided by its place in the list. These are limits, not doses.

Hover, tap or focus a row. The rule lists names from the heaviest to the lightest, so name k weighs at most 200 ÷ k mg, and name 1 weighs at least 200 ÷ 22 = 9.09 mg.

ceiling (at most)floor of name 1 (at least 9.09 mg)equal share, 200 ÷ 22 = 9.09 mg

The 22 ceilings add up to about 738 mg, nearly four times the 200 mg blend, so most names must sit well below their ceilings. No real amount is printed. The blend is also at most about a fifth of each mL by weight, since a mL of liquid weighs about 1 g or more.

That is why a pharmacist may ask you to bring the bottle.

FAQ01

Glyco Harmony and diabetes: common questions

Is Glyco Harmony good for type 1 diabetes?

No evidence says so, and the label makes no claim for type 1. People with type 1 diabetes depend on insulin and must not skip or change it because of a supplement. Ask your diabetes team before adding any product.

What should I ask my doctor before taking Glyco Harmony?

Ask whether any listed name could interact with your medicines or conditions, and whether you need extra blood sugar checks. Bring the bottle or a photo of the Supplement Facts panel.

Is there sugar in a Glyco Harmony serving?

The Supplement Facts panel prints no sugar line. The other ingredients include glycerin, stevia extract and xylitol, a sugar alcohol. If sweeteners matter for your diabetes plan, ask your pharmacist.
